Amazing music in little church of Valkkoog
Piazzolla and his angel
The Orion Ensemble is unmistakably inspired by the man Piazzolla and the very versatile music he wrote. But isn’t this exactly what the public wants: to be amazed? … Nearly all the time the piano has an independent role. But its very nature implies that it gives footing to the strings. Sometimes its role is bantering. But Leutscher regularly breaks free and plays almost without any restraint. The strings have a tough job. But, especially in the unisono passages, it becomes evident how balanced the ensemble is. … And the Orion Ensemble honoured Piazzolla with their superior performance.
